January Wrap Up

Hello there smartsouls, how have you been? I'm great as always. In today's blog post, I will wrap up the books, songs, podcasts, etc I have discovered/tried in the month of January. So buckle up your seats, this is going to be a long ride. (JK)

So, let's begin.

let us begin with my favorite of all:

BOOKS:

1. Animal Farm by George Orwell.

It is simple and easy to read. It has less than 100 pages. It is a political fable based on the events in Russia. The animals on the farm decide to group together and rebel against humanity and establish their own laws. It was an interesting read to me, 5/5.

2. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

It is a classic and deserves to be one. The fact that I relate to a fictional character written in 1813 just blows my mind. It is not an easy read for a beginner but it is not much complicated as well. The book takes you on a journey with Elizabeth as she undergoes character development. I relate to Elizabeth at such a level that it is...scary.

3. How I taught my grandmother to read by Sudha Murthy

My expectations are to be blamed. I was expecting something else when it was a children stories book. I guess I would have loved it 10 years ago or something. But now, nah. On the other hand it was simple to read. You can read it when there is so much going on in your mind and want an easy distraction.

4. Crush by Richard Siken

It’s a poetry collection. I failed miserably to understand the context at times. You can give it a try though. Maybe it’s me, I’m the problem it’s me. Who knows?

SONGS:

1. Queen of kings by Alessandra

The lyrics are good, but I love the beats. Do try it out if you are a lover of beats.

2. Bones by Imagine Dragons.

A viral song thanks to the "the boys" meme, but it never fails to give you goosebumps, and I'm not complaining.

3. Family Line by Conan Gray

It is a sad song. The lyrics pierce through my heart...

PODCAST:

1. The knowledge project.

It is the podcast that unveils insights from the top players, that are useful to help change our life. The timeless insights stay with you forever. I personally loved the latest ep. (Become a Better Listener)

OTHER:

1. Buddy Daddies (anime): I have started it but not completed it yet, so far it's good.

2. City of blanks (Webtoon): Even though I started it much before January, the eps released in January are just lit. And it is still ongoing, so do give it a try.

3. Chalchitra Talks (youtube channel): They recommend amazing movies, books, songs, documentaries, and more.

That would be all for now. See you all soon, hopefully before February wrap up. Do let me know what you discovered/ tried in the month of January. There is always room for new recommendations. :)
