“You’ll never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.”
-James Clear.
We walk, talk, think, breathe and we don’t need to pay attention to our legs, tongue, thoughts, or lungs, They just HAPPENS subconsciously.
Hi guys and girls, sorry for such a long break. But I had {yeah ‘had’๐ } a very bad habit of procrastinating, So I was researching about how to get rid of bad habits, and here is the best possible conclusion of the research.
So, today let’s discuss the following and take our lives to next level:
So let’s begin the fun ride!๐๐:
Habit cycle
According to Charles Duhigg, we follow a cycle, that is
Trigger
↙ ↘
Reward ← Respond
For example, when I’m tired I drink tea- tiredness is my trigger. Drinking tea is the response. And feeling refreshed is my reward.
We can apply this cycle to every habit.
Few bad habits that should be removed from your life.

*Laziness.
*Excessive use of social media.
*Wasting money.
*Overthinking.
*Short tempered.
*Envy or jealousy.
*Procrastination.

How to get rid of bad habits.
Someone once said {I literally don’t know who๐ },” THE CHAINS OF HABITS ARE TOO LIGHT TO BE FELT UNTIL THEY ARE TOO HEAVY TO BE BROKEN”
Yes, I agree with the fact that habits are hard to make or break. It takes time and effort to install new systems in our lives. But once installed, they become effortless as they become a part of our lives.
Whatever bad habits we might have, whether as minor as sleeping late or as major as drug addiction, happens because of the habit cycle mentioned above. Now, let’s discuss few ways to get rid of bad habits.
Get rid of the trigger.
There will always be a trigger around us that reminds us about the bad habit we want to get rid of.
So the best thing would be to get rid of them first. For instance, if you want to reduce the usage of social media the best thing would be, turn off the notification or mobile data/wifi or simply uninstall the app [for a while].
Replace the bad with the good:
To give you an idea, if you want to stop eating junk food simply replace them with a good one, like replace a packet of chips with fruits and water.
Be busy:
Most of the time we tend to fall into the traps of distraction because we are doing nothing. So try to be busy.
Start with one:
Don’t get extra boosted and decide to change all the habits in one go. It like eating an elephant in one bite. Just start with one habit at a time.
Self-observation:
If you really want to make changes in your life, then be honest to yourself and observe how do you respond to various triggers. And then start working on them one by one.
Moving on….{continuing the fun ride๐}
4. How to build a habit:
A lot of studies confirm that it takes 21-66 days to completely develop a new habit. The truth is, it depends from person to person and also the selected new habits you are trying to develop.
The key is to start today and repeat tomorrow.
As simple as that.[easy-peasy-lemon sqeezy๐]
Let’s discuss some ways to built habits in our life.
1, Triggers:
Keep the trigger in front of you. For example, if you want to drink more water just keep a water bottle near you.
You may have observed in your classroom, if one student asks for water suddenly the whole class will get thirsty.
2. Track your progress:
Commit to a number(goal) it might be weekly/monthly/yearly and track your progress and observe your responses.
3. Never miss twice:
If you miss one day, try to get back on track ASAP.
And so many others…
5. Few good habits to add to your life:
Read and write every day:
Even if you don’t want to become a writer, jotting down your thoughts will make great changes in your life.
Spending time with your elders:
This will not only help your elders feel special and loved but it will also give us the incredible knowledge that is not written anywhere else in the whole universe. Sharing thoughts with them will teach us the important lessons of life. “Spend some time with your elders, not everything is found on google.” [remember to avoid the negative talks].
Drinking more water:
Water is the only substance in the world that has the ability to fight more than 50% of diseases on regular basis. Not only that it has many more benefits.
And more….
6. Cherry on the cake:
Here are some tips that can ease your habit-changing journey.
#Set only one alarm and keep your phone far from you before you fall asleep.
#Just think about this hour/minute/second. [live the moment]
#Make a habit of writing to-do lists.
#1% better every day[compounding effect].
And congratulations we have reached our destination.
Hope you have enjoyed today’s journey. Don’t forget to give feedback about the ride...๐๐
